Advanced Diagnostic Technology

Optical Coherence Tomography

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) uses light waves to create detailed cross-sectional pictures of the retina and optic nerve. It allows your eye doctor to see the individual layers of the eye, helping detect and monitor conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease—often before noticeable vision loss occurs

Visual Field

Visual Field Testing measures your full range of vision, including central and peripheral (side) vision. It helps detect blind spots or areas of reduced vision that may not be noticeable in everyday life. This test is especially important for diagnosing and monitoring conditions such as glaucoma, neurological disorders, and retinal diseases.

Virtual Visual Field

Virtual Visual Field Testing is an advanced, technology-driven exam that uses a headset or digital device to assess your central and peripheral vision. It offers a more comfortable and flexible alternative to traditional visual field tests, often allowing for faster testing and improved patient experience. This method helps detect and monitor conditions such as glaucoma and other vision-related disorders by identifying areas of vision loss or sensitivity changes.

Anterior Segment Imaging

Anterior Segment Imaging captures detailed images of the front part of the eye, including the cornea, iris, and lens. It helps your eye doctor evaluate eye health, detect abnormalities, and monitor conditions such as dry eye, corneal diseases, and cataracts.

Fundus Photography Imaging

Fundus Photography captures high-resolution images of the back of the eye, including the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels. It allows your optometrist to document and monitor eye health over time, helping detect conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. By comparing images from year to year, your eye doctor can track even subtle changes, assess disease progression, and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Corneal Topography

Corneal Topography maps the shape and curvature of the cornea (the clear front surface of the eye). It helps detect irregularities and conditions such as astigmatism, keratoconus, and dry eye. This technology is also essential for contact lens fitting and pre- and post-surgical evaluations. By comparing maps over time, your optometrist can monitor changes in corneal shape, track disease progression, and ensure optimal eye health.

Ophthalmic Ultrasound

Ophthalmic Ultrasound uses sound waves to create detailed images of the inside of the eye. It is especially useful when the view of the retina is blocked by conditions such as cataracts or vitreous hemorrhage. This technology helps diagnose and monitor issues like retinal detachment, tumors, and other internal eye abnormalities.

Meibography

Meibography captures detailed images of the meibomian glands located in the eyelids. These glands play a key role in maintaining a healthy tear film and preventing dry eye. Meibography allows your optometrist to assess gland structure, detect blockages or gland loss, and diagnose conditions such as meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). By comparing images over time, doctors can monitor changes, track disease progression, and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.

A-scan Biometry

A-Scan Biometry uses ultrasound or optical technology to measure the length of the eye (axial length). This measurement is especially important in managing myopia (nearsightedness), as longer eye length is associated with myopia progression. By tracking axial length over time, optometrists can detect even small changes, monitor how quickly myopia is progressing, and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments such as specialty contact lenses or atropine therapy. This allows for more personalized care and proactive management to help slow myopia progression and protect long-term eye health.
